A protected area based on fast, modular construction using strengthened, inert materials filled sections. Provides effective protection from mortar shells, rockets and more.

Design can be configured to either protect soldiers and civilians or to protect command systems and vital vehicles and equipment.

Configuration to protect personnel

Fortified structure with a wide opening for fast and easy construction designed to protect troops, civilians, vehicles and equipment. The structure is constructed using fortified, elements filled with an inert material (dirt / sand / concrete).

The area of the basic fortified structure is approximately 84 SqM. (net) and can contain some 366 soldiers and their equipment for a short period or 168 soldiers for longer periods.

Fortified structure with a wide opening for fast and easy construction designed to protect troops, civilians, vehicles and equipment. The structure is constructed using fortified, elements filled with an inert material (dirt / sand / concrete).

The area of the basic fortified structure is approximately 84 SqM. (net) and can contain varying numbers of vehicles according to their size.

Solutions for many threat scenarios

  • Small-arms fire – up to and including 0.5 in.
  • Hand grenades shrapnel and artillery shells
  • Bomb and missile blast – based on relative threat
  • Direct hit by RPG 7 (excluding liner)
  • Direct hit and near miss by mortar – up to and including 120 mm.
  • Direct hit and near miss by rocket – up to and including 122 mm.
  • Near miss from car bomb with 2.5 tons of explosive (!).

Simple and easy construction process

  1. Fast preparation and leveling of the area prior to the structure’s erection.
  2. Positioning of structure’s sections, strengthened at the ground floor level (the basic units is a combination of 29 fortified elements (22 20-foot units and seven 40-foot units).
  3. Filling units with dirt/sand/concrete through a roof opening.
  4. Placement of roof elements, connecting and closing roof.
  5. Filling roof elements with a 50 cm. layer of concrete (alternatively a 100 cm. sand layer) via roof openings.

Equipment needed for construction

  • Crane truck / medium sized mobile crane (80 tons)
  • Tractor / Power Shovel / Digger + locally available soil, sand or gravel.
  • Alternatively “Big Bags” for filling with soil/ sand pump / and installed in the sections using the crane.
  • After use, the sections can be removed behind the lines, without heavy cranes, for reuse.
